All
pictures on this page are from my first trip to "The
Burgh" in August '98, to see the Steelers play
in their sadly extinct but legendary home,
Three Rivers Stadium. We beat the Carolina Panthers 38-24 in a
nationally televised pre-season night game on
ESPN.
This picture shows framed, autographed jerseys of
Steelers greats, from left to right, top to bottom - #88 WR
Lynn Swann, #20 RB Rocky Bleier, #12 QB Terry Bradshaw, #32 FB
Franco Harris, #82 WR John Stallworth, #47 CB Mel Blount, #58
LB Jack Lambert, #26 CB Rod Woodson, #59 LB Jack Ham, and #75
DT Joe Greene at the entry to former Steeler CB Rod Woodson's
All-Star Grille sports bar when it still
existed.

Steelers
Score!
Fans in Three Rivers Stadium went crazy
after we scored another touchdown in a 38-24 win that wasn't
even that close!

Rod Woodson's sports
bar at Station Square, in classic red brick/train station
look, with a nostalgic traincar parked in front. We
drank Iron City Beer there before the game.
The Gateway
Clipper Paddle Boat Fleet
The
multi-boat fleet that takes Steelers fans, "Burghers", and
tourists alike to and from games and up and down the three
rivers. This picture's from the one that took us to
the game.
Since the
Steelers rise to NFL dominance began in 1972 - Under former Head Coach Chuck Noll and current
Head Coach Bill Cowher, they've given us four Super Bowl wins
in five appearances, five AFC championships, 15 division
titles, many hall-of-famers/perennial all-pros, and countless
great games in Three Rivers
Stadium!
Former
Steelers and NFL Stars from Pittsburgh or PA colleges or high
schools - LB Jack Ham, RB Franco Harris, K Matt
Bahr, QB John Unitas, QB Jim Kelly - "The Irish Cannon",
QB Dan Marino, TB Tony Dorsett, QB Joe Montana, and QB
"Broadway Joe" Namath.
Famous "Burghers"
- George Benson, Christina
Aguilera, and many
more.
Great
companies from "The Burgh"
- US Steel, Pittsburgh
Paints, Heinz Ketchup, US Airways, FedEx, and General
Nutrition Centers -
(GNC).

A
panoramic view of "The Burgh" from Mt. Washington shows Three
Rivers Stadium, the city's many bridges, and "the
confluence"/intersection of the Allegheny, Monongahela, and
Ohio rivers, on a clear, cool, August summer
day.
